When I think of sweepstakes casinos, Chumba is one of the first platforms that comes to mind. They were among the first social casinos to open back in 2017 under the direction of Virtual Gaming Worlds (VGW). Hyperbole aside, Chumba is a must-try for most sweepstakes players.
They created the blueprint for other popular social casinos and tens of subsequent sweeps casinos to follow. With a newly launched live dealer studio and more than 244 titles on deck, I was excited to get my hands dirty. In this review, I’m discussing my personal experience as a Chumba user.

Chumba Social Casino Review
Chumba operates legally in 45 U.S. states and the District of Columbia under the ownership of VGW Limited. They first opened back in 2017, spearheading the legalization of sweeps games and giving birth to all the popular platforms that power America’s current social casino industry.
I played games with Gold Coins (GC) and Sweepstakes Coins (SC), both of which were freely given to me. I received a starting bonus of 2 million GC and 2 free SC after registering, confirming my email address, and logging back into the site. I also love their increasing daily login promotions.
I especially appreciate their GC top-up feature. Whenever my balance dipped below 12,500 GC, I got more GC to keep the action going free-of-charge. This top-up is unlimited, meaning that it’s usable forever. I appreciated the diversity of their game collection, but live baccarat is missing.
In 2023, Chumba didn’t have a live casino at all, so I’m going to assume they’re still a work in progress. Nonetheless, they cater to beginners and traditional casino players with Vegas-style slots, low redemption minimums, and significant Gold Coin discounts to get started on the right foot.
I was able to sign up with a few taps by connecting my existing Google account with Chumba.

💰 Bonuses & Promotions Available
Beyond their GC discounts and recurring daily login rewards, regular promotions are few at Chumba. If you decide to mail in envelopes, you can get up to 5 free SC per accepted request. Still, I wish they’d add more excitement to the mix. Individual promotions are nice, but I crave competition.
Here’s a quick look at Chumba’s current promotions and GC discounts:

I registered my account, opened the email I received from Chumba, and clicked the link inside to confirm my information. I got 2 million Gold Coins and 2 free Sweeps Coins automatically.
Notably, I was prompted to complete Chumba’s mandatory KYC verification process before I got an opportunity to claim daily login rewards. I clicked “Get Coins” and toggled to “Daily Bonus” as I prepared to send my documents. Finally, I selected “Verify Now” to begin their KYC procedure.

I was prompted to submit a photo of my driver’s license, a real-time selfie, and my most recent utility bill as proof of address. Chumba does KYC through Jumio, a third-party security provider.
Chumba takes documents no older than 6 months, so long as they show your current residential address. I got a website notification and clicked “Back to Lobby” after finishing the KYC process.

From here, I waited four hours for one of their agents to verify my proof of address documents.
I didn’t like being forced to complete KYC ahead of time, but it saved me a few minutes when it came time for my first SC redemption. It helps that their KYC is beginner-friendly, in my opinion.
After getting KYC-verified, I was able to participate in daily bonus rewards. Most users on Chumba report getting 1 SC as a daily log-in bonus. For some reason I was given a progressive daily log-in bonus instead.
I got 50,000 GC and 0.25 SC on Day 1. After seven days of back-to-back logins, I collected 600,000 GC + 3 free SC. Your mileage may vary.

While missing a day sets you back to square one, you’re promised at least 50k GC + 0.25 SC. If your balance drops below 12,500 GC during gameplay, you’ll have an option to claim free GC on the next spin. This keeps the action going forever so long as you’re playing with Gold Coins.
Last but not least, I followed Chumba on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter (X) to participate in social media giveaways. I penned this review around Christmas 2024, so I walked right into the “Mega Huge Holiday Giveaway.” They were giving 150 players a prize of 500,000 GC + 50 SC.

I’d like to see Chumba implement a VIP Program and referral bonus, especially given their age and social reputation. Tournaments were also missing, but massive GC and SC jackpots took their place.
I’ll discuss the nature of these jackpots (and their first purchase bonuses) in upcoming sections.
Coin Package Assessment

When I clicked “Get Coins” from the top portion of Chumba’s website, I was redirected to seven packages in total. Their 200% first purchase bonus is featured front-and-center, which I love for the purpose of being easily accessible. It gave me 10 million GC and 30 free SC for $10 USD.
Normally, this package is priced at $30. Although purchases are entirely optional at Chumba or any other sweepstakes casino, this is one massive bargain I wouldn’t mind taking advantage of.
They place third on our list of ranked discounts from tens of reputable sweepstakes platforms, but it’s worth noting that most bundles were 50% off at the time of my review. This slashes their minimum purchase requirement to $0.50 instead of $1, but there’s no telling how long this lasts.

I completed Chumba’s KYC verification process a bit earlier than usual, because taking this step was necessary before I could earn daily login rewards. From a “glass-half-full” perspective I was happy I’d gotten it out of the way prior to redeeming my first SC prize.
I clicked “Get Coins” to launch their purchase menu, which I’ve discussed in more detail above.
They accept Trustly Online Banking, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Skrill purchases if you are using their desktop site. I pulled up their mobile website and found a separate option for Apple Pay on iOS. In my experience, Chumba has made it easy to navigate coin purchases.
I clicked “Buy $10.00” to take advantage of Chumba’s latest first purchase bonus, but all their packages are 50% off for a limited time. I clicked “Cards” to enter my card number, expiry date, CVV code, and full name. There’s a box you can tick if you’d like to save your card information.

After confirming my billing address, I clicked “Pay $10.00” to complete my purchase. I received 10 million GC and 30 free SC immediately after refreshing the website. Requesting my first SC redemption felt similarly easy. After clicking “Redeem,” I was asked to “Link My Bank Account.”

You can either link your bank account manually or connect your credentials to Trustly Banking. I clicked “Manual” instead of “Automatic” on the following screen.
I entered my routing and account number when prompted, and I was asked to upload a recent bank statement proving my ownership of the account. Their automatic verification goes through Trustly, eliminating the 3-hour wait time I experienced before finally getting approved manually.
Redeeming for prizes (Gift cards) start from just 10 SC, but cash payouts are limited to 100 SC through bank transfer. Once I’d won enough SC to request a bank prize, I clicked “Redeem” and “Cash” to indicate my prize preference. 24 hours later, $100 landed in my bank at the touch of a button.
Normally, players who don’t enjoy same-day banking have to wait 48 to 72 hours before they receive cash prizes. Gift card prizes were sent to my email fifteen minutes after the fact, so it’s something to consider if you’re not satisfied with Chumba’s average cash redemption speeds.

I enjoyed the diversity and range of top-notch games available at Chumba Casino. They’ve also added live dealer games to their repertoire over the past year, making them a one-stop-shop for every player’s preferences.
Chumba casino games are from 10 different software providers to host a grand total of 244 casino games. I was glad to see options from Pragmatic, but Chumba goes the extra mile with games from Playtech – an esteemed software provider that’s worked with countless real money online casinos since 1999.

That’s not to mention their well-organized user interface. I didn’t have to suffer through annoying pop-ups, but I was surprised to see so many pop culture references in their game library. Not that I’m complaining, but the most a casino can usually get away with is ripping off Angry Birds.
When you have as many connections as Chumba, you can buy the rights to a game like Candy Land. I was able to play the games at Chumba using Gold Coins (GC) and Sweeps Coins (SC). Gold Coins have no prize value but you can redeem Sweeps Coins for gift cards or cash prizes.
I decided to don my sombrero and cosplay as John Wayne, the unmistakably patriotic folk hero that appeared in more than 175 films during the span of his 50-year acting career. I saw golden rays of sunlight peeking over the savannah as the Lone Star Flag billowed with every new spin.

I counted 31 progressives among their 211 slots. At the time of my review, Chumba hosted four Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand jackpot prizes climbing up to 768,723 SC and 1.7 billion GC. It all depends on which currency you’re using to play. I couldn’t resist playing Candy Land using SC.

While I wasn’t lucky enough to walk away with the Grand prize, I had a great time navigating the multi-colored roads, candy slides, and lollipop fields that characterize the original board game.
Again, Chumba has some of the best pop-culture themed games I’ve played in a very long time. I popped into their “Bingo” header to reveal five active rooms for GC and SC players. At the side of the page, I noticed 38 mini-games to explore in between rounds. I enjoyed “Thunder Wheel.”

I had fun testing Playtech’s live blackjack, live roulette, and live slot with Gold Coins. At the time I penned this review, Chumba didn’t allow for SC play on live dealer games.
They require users to play at least 50,000 GC per blackjack hand or roulette wheel, but their bet minimums feel comparatively low. Keep in mind, I got 2 million GC just for signing up. I got lucky enough to win 200,000 GC following my first 100k GC hand after deciding to stand on a twenty.

Bingo, exclusives, scratch cards, and instant-win specialties gave me a much-needed change of pace in between spins. I wish they’d add live baccarat to their collection, but live blackjack and live roulette were the highlights of my experience. I’m super happy they offer live tables, period.
Nothing is without its place at Chumba Casino. Scrolling down the “Home” page revealed all my recently played games, showed me Chumba’s newest releases, and gave me a list of their top ten hottest machines.
- Candy Land
- Stampede Fury 2
- Season’s Joy
- Oink Oink Oink
- Better Wilds
- Rocky Horror Show
- The Golden Cheese
- Atlantis
- Goblin Grand
- John Wayne 10k Ways
Player Reports
I did my homework on Chumba to see how their reputation is holding up nearly a decade after they first opened shop. Here’s what I discovered through TrustPilot, Reddit, and AskGamblers:
TrustScore | 4.2 stars (Excellent) |
Reddit Opinion | ![]() |
App Store Rating | N/A |
Google Play Rating | N/A |
AskGamblers Unresolved Complaints | None Reported |
TrustPilot TrustScore
After opening Chumba’s Trustpilot, I saw that the company had claimed and verified their profile. They have a 4.2 out of 5 star TrustScore based on 8,039 reviews and counting, but 21% of their reviews are just one star. Chumba has been accused of deactivating users’ accounts at random.
This began happening on December 18th, 2024. While players who bought GC were largely unaffected, players that take advantage of SC mail-in requests have reported getting restricted from the site. I did mail in an envelope and didn’t run into that problem so I can’t speak to it.
Reddit Analysis
I came across a similar problem on Reddit. According to real players, Chumba is deactivating players’ accounts if they submit too many free SC request envelopes.
One user mentioned how they sent in 800 envelopes during a 30-day period. Instead of getting 4,000 SC, their account was deactivated. Chumba claims that deactivated accounts are using automation to submit SC requests, but the original poster vehemently denies breaking the rules.
At face value, they’re banning long-time players for taking advantage of a legal, free promotion. It’s not a great look but for the time being it appears to only be affecting the people who mail hundreds of envelopes.

📱 Mobile Apps & Play

Google Play (Android) | ✅ but no SC play allowed |
Chumba has two downloadable iOS apps called “Chumba Lite” and “Chumba Mini” on the App Store. I downloaded and played both applications, but neither one features sweepstake games.
Instead, their application(s) feature a handful of free to play slots. I used Gold Coins exclusively to spin through titles in landscape mode, but I ended up logging into Chumba’s mobile site for a proper experience. Android users face the same issue, as there’s no equivalent via Google Play.
Their website benefits from the same detailed organization on desktop and mobile devices, but I hated turning my phone sideways to play games on-the-go. To be fair, everything loaded quickly and I didn’t experience any noticeable lag as I watched the reels turn.

I believe that Chumba is a safe and legitimate casino platform. They’ve been around since 2017 with nary a complaint, and they’ve only lasted this long because they take the high road when it comes to user disputes. Scam sites are plentiful, but none of them last more than a year or two.
As mentioned, Chumba has essentially laid the groundwork for tens of popular casinos to follow. Their current popularity dispels the notion that age is a negative connotation for social platforms, as Chumba continues to improve year after year. For example, 2024 saw them add live games.
They require all players to be at least 21 years of age, and I had to get KYC-verified before claiming a single daily bonus. They work closely with reputable software providers to conduct RNG testing, ensuring that the outcome of each GC/SC spin or round is entirely random.
I opened the sidebar and clicked the arrow next to “Responsible Social Gameplay” to set up GC purchase limits, enable Activity Reminders, and implement Time Session limits. I was able to do this independently without contacting their support team, which is a green flag in my experience.
Customer Support Experience
Chumba has a live chat feature at the bottom-right corner of their website, but it’s only utilized for payment and redemption-related inquiries. In order to solicit general support, I opened the sidebar and clicked “Contact Us.” I was sent over to Chumba’s ticket submission request form.
Their “Help Center” was readily available from the same screen. I read articles about bonuses, technical issues, prize redemptions, KYC verification, payments, account questions, and login verification (2FA). It’s no substitute for real-time support, but they include lots of helpful details.
I emailed support@chumbacasino.com and sent a support ticket around the same time for my own comparison. I received a reply to both inquiries within four hours, but getting in touch around midnight forced me to wait 12 hours for a response. In summary? It could be improved by a lot.

Final Verdict
I enjoyed my time spent at Chumba. If you’re the kind of new player who prioritizes gaming diversity over competitive opportunities, their library is right up your alley. Additionally, their independent responsible gaming tools speak volumes about their dedication to players’ financial well-being.
I played bingo, slots, jackpots, live games, and specialties using Gold Coins and Sweepstakes Coins. Their increasing daily login bonus is among the best I’ve seen, as I topped out at 600,000 GC + 3 free SC on Day 7 of my testing period. I’m also a fan of their 200% initial GC purchase boost.
Tournaments are hard to find, but frequent Facebook giveaways scratched my competitive itch.
I’d only recommend staying away from Chumba if you have the art of SC envelopes down to a science.
